Laphroaig 12 Year Old 700ml

Description

Our 12-year-old travel exclusive Laphroaig, delivers a classic flavour profile with a higher maturation and ABV for a powerful taste experience. Matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, this whisky reveals notes of carbolic soap, salt encrusted seaweed and savoury notes of iodine and oily mackerel complexity. Bottled at a strength of 46%, Laphroaig 12-year offers a smoky, salty, surprisingly sweet flavour profile. Laphroaig is one of only a few distilleries still using a traditional malting floor. It is here where Laphroaig 12-year-old began its life. Starting as malted barley, gently dried and infused by the smoke from our signature cold smoking process in our kilns. It's then mixed with the crisp waters of Islay’s unique Kilbride Stream before being distilled. Fully matured for 12 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at natural colour for a sweet and powerful flavour. At Laphroaig we celebrate our uniquely bold character, through both the flavour of our whisky and the beating heart which drives us. Since 1815, we’ve made our whisky by the courage of our own convictions. Beginning with hand turning our malted barley and burning the peat at low temperatures to flavour the malt with cool smoke to slow distillation to maintain quality. We do all of this as it is what makes Laphroaig, the right way, not the easy way.
